Thao and the Get Down Stay Down

Last night I convinced the ladies to head to The Empty Bottle to see Thao and the Get Down Stay Down perform. First off, I love The Empty Bottle. I think it may be my favorite venue to see live music in Chicago. I've been to two shows there, they have a great L-shaped layout with an intimate, accessible and not too sleek vibe.

The show was pretty awesome! The music was energetic and they have a great stage presence and on-stage energy. They sound like a fusion of folky-indie pop and Thao's voice is raspy sweet Edie Brickel/Jolie Holland-ish. It was one of the better live shows i've seen in a long time. These kids are going places, for sure.
